Mr. Ron Gamboa began training in Tae Kwon Do in 1988 at the age of 12. His first school was located in Cleveland, OH. He trained under Master Greg Micochero and earned his 1st degree black belt in 1992. Mr. Gamboa attended the University of Cincinnati where he taught Tae Kwon Do classes under Grandmaster Il Kwon Kim. Mr. Gamboa was the head instructor of the University of Cincinnati branch and was also the coach for the branch demonstration team. In 1996, Mr. Gamboa received his 2nd degree black belt under Grandmaster IK Kim’s organization. From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Gamboa competed in numerous martial arts tournaments under both WTF (World Tae Kwon Do Federation), ITF (International Tae Kwon Do Federation), and NASKA (North American Sport Karate Association). During that time he was fortunate enough to meet several martial arts stars including Billy Blanks, Chuck Norris, Eric Lee and Dan “The Beast” Severn to name a few. In addition to training in Tae Kwon Do, Mr Gamboa has also trained in Kali (Filipino stick fighting), Hapkido, Aikido and White Crane Kung Fu. Mr. Gamboa was also fortunate enough to briefly train in Kyokyushin Karate while visiting Japan. Mr. Gamboa believes that all students and instructors should always perform at their best ability. It is the instructor’s responsibility to teach and push their students to their maximum potential. It is also the student’s responsibility to train to their maximum potential each time they come to class. |
